STORY OF THE VOW OF GAYATRI MAA

Lord Shankar’s marriage with Himalaya’s daughter Parvati was fixed, and Himalaya invited all the deities, sages, and friends to attend the wedding. All reached there on an auspicious day.

On the other hand, Lord Shankar came to the wedding venue along with Devas, sages, Siddhas, and Shiva devotees. The Himalayas’ wife Mena welcomed everyone respectfully and have them all a lift, and feed them all with pure love.

At an auspicious time, Parvatiji was decorated and seated on the altar. Brahma and Vishnu also seated Lord Shankar on the altar. Then the marriage ceremony began with chanting. Himalaya and his wife Mena married off their daughter Parvati. Himalaya handed over Parvati’s lotus to Shankar. At this time, Lord Shankar performed such magic that caused Mother Gayatri’s appearance.

Prajapita Brahma broke the Indriyanigraha with Shankar’s magic. He became sexually aroused when he saw the blood-colored leaves of Parvati’s feet while roaming around. Due to puberty, he had impotence.

There, Brahmaji suddenly realized that the ceremony is not complete without a wife, so he gave power to Khecharamuni and sent him to take Savitriji from Satyaloka immediately. Khecharmuni went to Satyaloka. He bowed down to Savitriji and told all the facts about Brahmaji, then also said that he had come to take her.

Savitri came to know that Brahma had cast a curse on his daughter Parvati, so they got angry and refused to come to the ceremony. So Khecharamuni went to the ceremony alone. He told Brahmaji all the facts. Hearing this, Brahmaji became a little worried. He thought a lot about this matter and suggested a trick to him. He made an idol of Savitri and installed her and installed fire. But the husband and wife had to offer sacrifices in the ceremony, at that time the idol of Savitri was not working, so they again sent Khecharamuni to Satyaloka.

WILL SAVITRI COME TO THE CEREMONY…?

When Savitriji learned that Brahmaji had installed her idol in her place, she became very angry and refused to come. When Savitriji did not come, Brahmaji created a woman to complete the ceremony that had been started in haste and manifested, that is Maa Gayatri. Thus seated Gayatri with him, the ceremony continued further.

On the other hand, when Savitriji came to know that Brahmaji had started the work of ceremony in the lifeless idol of Darbha, she came to the ceremony place full of anger. At that time Lord Vishnu respected Savitriji and asked her to get rid of her anger. Savitriji’s anger subsided with Lord Vishnu’s humble request. She took her seat on the left side of Brahmaji. Thus Savitriji, Brahmaji, and Gayatri together completed the ceremony.

After the ceremony was over, Brahmaji gifted a golden idol to the Brahmins. In that idol, Savitriji was seated on the left and Gayatriji on the right. Thus, Gayatri Mata appeared in Pushkar. Brahmins built a beautiful temple on the shores of Tirtharaj Pushkar Lake and installed this idol in it.
